Amanda Brugel

Pointe Claire (February 27, 2010 (February 27, 2010) Toronto ON). Pointe Claire is a quiet community that is located on the West Island, which is an island in Montreal. People unfamiliar with the term often think that it's an island that's in the west of Montreal however, it's a part of the city that's west. West Island is home to all things from the city of Lachine west. Amanda Brugel was born there, but her time in the city wasn't long. Brugel lived in Courtice near Oshawa Ontario. She was determined to be a professional dancer, but because of a huge increase in her height, she outgrew all of her dancing partners. In a recent interview with the Toronto Star, she confessed that "In heels I am 6 feet and 1 inch." As I got bigger than my male counterparts, I gave up. Numerous former dancers choose to become actors. In Brugel's case it was because of the advice by her drama instructor at her high school which pushed her in the direction she required. It was her teacher who suggested she audition for the role of Anne for their school's annual production. The teacher who suggested that she go after a role in the school's annual production. She was awarded a Fine Arts Talent Scholarship to take part in York University's Theater Program, where she graduated in 2000 with a bachelor's degree in Fine Arts. Since then, Brugel has been performing in over 60 plays, big and small. Most notable was when she landed Rita's role in The Handmaid's Tale. Brugel played the role of Rita in The Handmaid's Tale the series filming over 10 years ago.
